Mediha’s Corner Store

For 11 years, Mediha carried the weight of life alone. Her husband passed away before their first child was born. Since then, she cleaned houses and tutored children in her neighborhood—doing all she could to survive. But it was never enough.

“There were days I couldn’t send my children to school,” she shares. “Even when they got sick, I couldn’t afford medicine. I prayed. Because people like us… we don’t stop fighting.

Everything changed when Mediha found out about a vocational support program. She applied, met Time of Goodness, and soon after, opened her very own grocery store.

“Now, I have something I can call mine,” she says, smiling. “A business, a rhythm, and time for my children. I finally feel free.”

Today, Mediha’s children are back in school. She manages her store and is already planning something more:

“You gave me silver,” she says, “Now I will turn it into gold—so I can lift up other women like me.”
