Lives Changed by a Sewing Machine

Life in Niger isn’t easy. For Mariam, a widow raising her three children and her late sister’s child, every day was a challenge. Between household responsibilities and trying to make ends meet, she did what she could with the limited resources she had.

She began looking for ways to earn a living from home, because that was the only way she could continue to care for her children.

Everything changed when Time of Goodness provided her with a sewing machine. This simple tool became the start of something bigger.

"I wasn’t just given a machine; I was given a future," Mariam says with joy.

Sewing a Better Tomorrow

She began by sewing clothes for her family and neighbors, but her skills quickly turned into a growing business. Over time, she bought additional machines and started teaching other women in her community.

"I don't just sew for my family; I teach other women, and together we're building something beautiful.'' she adds.

Selamu’s sewing machine didn’t just support her family; it became a way to create opportunities for others. Her story reminds us that small actions can lead to meaningful change.
